Willie Mullins
The dominant force in Irish and European jump racing, and the most successful trainer in Cheltenham Festival history.
Willie Mullins trains from Closutton in County Carlow and has for years been the pre-eminent National Hunt trainer in Ireland and Britain, sending out a relentless stream of Grade 1 winners. His yard's strength in depth is unmatched, and he routinely saddles multiple contenders in the biggest races.
For punters, the Mullins operation is central to reading the top jumps races: his runners are often short in the market for good reason, but the sheer number he fields means the yard's own 'second strings' can carry real each-way claims. His Festival and Grade 1 form is the reference point for the division.
