Paul Townend
Stable jockey to Willie Mullins and one of the finest jump riders of his generation.
Paul Townend is the number-one rider for the Willie Mullins yard, which puts him aboard many of the best jumpers in training. Cool and tactically astute, he is a big-race specialist with an outstanding record in Grade 1 company.
Because he rides the pick of the Closutton string, Townend's mount in a top race is often the stable's first choice — a useful pointer when a powerful yard fields several runners.
Known for
- Multiple Cheltenham Gold Cup wins
- Champion jockey in Ireland
- Grade 1 specialist
