The Curragh is Ireland's premier flat course and the home of all five Irish Classics — a wide, galloping, undulating right-handed track with a stiff, testing finish. Like the great British galloping courses, it's a fair test that rewards class and stamina, and top-yard, well-bred horses tend to dominate the better races.
The long home straight means there are few hard-luck stories, and closers get every chance to deliver their run. Ground can vary through the season and proven form on the prevailing going is a sound pointer. As the stage for the Irish Guineas, Derby and Oaks, the form here is Group-class and worth following into the wider European Pattern.
